How does BikeWorks support the local cycling community?
We enjoy finding ways to support our cycing community. Your support of our shop allows us to further our support to our local cycling community. We are proud to sponsor Bike To The Bay each year as mechanical and financial support. We are delighted to be directly involved with local cycling clubs including Maumee Valley Wheelmen, Toledo Area Bicyclists, Team Toledo and Hosteling International. Our involvement with Toledo Kid’s Safety Coaltion has allowed countless Toledo area children to puchase helmets at a discount. For 15 years, we have proudly offered Toledo’s premier century ride, the Hudson 100, free of charge. We also support various Toledo co-ops by providing them with extra parts and retired bikes. (Please think of us when you are cleaning your garage.) We are always looking to support cycling related events in the Toledo area.
Do the cats live at the shop?
Our attention-seeking shop cats rarely go unnoticed by customers. Glenn and Dennis really do live at the shop. The brothers emerged from the woods and chased after John on his bike after a roadside stop. John later returned to the same spot in a vehicle to retrieve the cats, with no intention of keeping them. After staying at the shop for a couple of days before their vaccinations were complete, we simply fell in love with Glenn and Dennis and could not imagine them leaving. Most people agree, they found the perfect home.
